BARBARA E. COMSTOCK, age 95 of Addison, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at the Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility in Hillsdale.
She was born on February 22, 1915 in Toledo, Ohio to Arnold and Minnie (Speck) Miller. She married Joseph J. Comstock and he preceded her in death on July 3, 1985.
Barb lived her early life in Toledo and then many years at Manitou Beach and the last eight years in Addison. She graduated from Scott High School in Toledo in 1934, and she belonged to the Alpha Zeta Sorority. She attended the University of Toledo and belonged to the Chi Omega Sorority and then she graduated from Tri State Business College. Barb attended The Toledo Conservatory of Music for eight years, and was a member of The Camarata Club and the Monday Musicals. She was a fifty year member of the Dendarah Court, the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America, member of the Addison United Church, member of the Addison Senior Citizens and a member of the Addison Women's Club.
She is survived by two sons, Joseph J. (Marcia) Comstock of Addison, Thomas A. Comstock of Manitou Beach, grandchildren, Carly Snyr, Sadie Comstock, Michael (Kim) Comstock and their children, Katie and Joey, Kathy (Jim) Decker and their children, Hattie, Zak and James, many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no services. Burial will take place in Green's Lakeside Cemetery at Manitou Beach. Memorial contributions are to the Storer Camp in Napoleon, MI or to the donor's choice.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Addison.
