MABEL IRENE DELANEY, age 93 years of Osseo passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Drew's Place in Hillsdale. She was born on February 15, 1918 in Scipio Township, Hillsdale County, Michigan, the daughter of Alton Lee and Neva (Weston) Spencer. Mabel married Raymond Kenneth Delaney on February 27, 1938 in Angola, Indiana. He preceded her in death on August 22, 1963. She worked at Harvard of Hillsdale and Fairway Products. Mabel enjoyed embroidery, quilting and gardening.
Mabel is survived by three children, Loren (Marie) Delaney of Osseo, Irene (Joseph) Mapes of Hillsdale and Karen (Harold) Powers of Osseo, six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren, one brother, Robert (June) Spencer of Phoenix, AZ, two sisters, Juanita Zorecki of Toledo, Ohio and Helen Delaney of Osseo and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Lawrence Spencer and three sisters, Rosie Holt, Florence Edwards and Dorothy Davis.
Cremation has taken place. A graveside interment of ashes will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery in Jefferson Township, Hillsdale County, Michigan at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2012 with Pastor Lenny officiating.
