Obituary
ROBERT DALE MORAN, age 17 years of Portage, formerly of Addison, drowned at Cross Village Beach, Lake Michigan on Saturday, July 21, 2012. Bobby was born on October 3, 1994 in Adrian. He was entering his junior year at Portage Northern High School, previously he attended Freedom Farm Christian School in Pittsford. Bobby enjoyed playing soccer, working at his grandfather's alpaca farm, listening to music, a huge Detroit Red Wings Fan and he loved the Lord. He was very active at Bethel Baptist Church and Youth Group in Kalamazoo.
Bobby is survived by his parents, Cynthia (Foster) and Cal Alderink of Portage, siblings, Tyler (Brittany) Moran of Manitoba, Canada, Ryan Moran of Hillsdale, Jacob Moran of Kalamazoo, Josiah (Courtney) Alderink of Utah, Marika Alderink of Texas, Elianna Alderink and Elijah Alderink both of Washington, Jeremiah Alderink of Jenison and Joshua Foster of Portage, grandparents, Tom(Sandy) Foster of Northern Michigan, Mark (Betty) Alderink of Allendale, Dan (Joan) Moran of Belding, Richard (Jean) Gilbert of Mason, special aunt, Betty Powers of Northern Michigan, nephew, Atreyu Moran of Canada and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Bobby was preceded in death by his dad, Dennis Moran and great grandmothers, Agnes Jacob and Hazel Bennett.
Funeral Services for Bobby will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, July 26, 2012 at the Dunn Chapel, Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Onsted with Pastor Dana Arledge officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 – 1:00 P.M. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Maple Shade Cemetery in Onsted. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Bethel Baptist Church in Kalamazoo. Memorials are suggested to Sturge-Weber Foundation or Bethel Baptist Church.
